Floating pneumatic rubber fenders are known as Yokohama fenders or Yokohama-type pneumatic fenders. They are made of synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheets with compressed air inside to enable them to float on the water. These fenders work as a shock absorber between two ships (ship-to-ship), or between ships and berthing structures when they come alongside each other. All Yokohama type floating pneumatic rubber fenders are manufactured and tested fully compliant with ISO 17357.
These fenders can be easily handled and installed with guy-rope or guy-chain due to their lightweight. They resist shearing forces and maintain energy absorption levels under inclined compression up to 15 degrees, while providing low and comparatively even hull pressure.
Consisting of several synthetic-cord layers and tough abrasion-resistant rubber, they offer consistent performance even under rough conditions and cyclic loads. Maintenance costs and damage risks are minimized, and high-quality materials ensure self-buoyancy and an extremely long service life.
Protects the cord layers and inner rubber from abrasion and external forces. This compound has sufficient tensile and tear resistance to withstand severe weather and usage.
Reinforcement layers strong enough to maintain internal air pressure. The inner rubber layer seals the pressurized air inside.
Fenders with a diameter of 2500mm and larger are equipped with a safety valve to release excess internal pressure during accidental over-compression.
The outside chain and tire net provide extra protection for the rubber fender body and can be easily replaced.
Fenders are available with 50kPa (Pneumatic 50) and 80kPa (Pneumatic 80) initial pressure. Internal pressure, endurable pressure, and safety-valve settings are fully compliant with ISO 17357 requirements.
Produced and tested in full compliance with ISO 17357. Third-party certificates are available from recognized bodies such as BV, CCS, ABS, and LR.
Warranty: The warranty period is 24 months. During this period, quality problems under correct use and storage will be handled with free repair or replacement.
Comprehensive repair services are available for pneumatic rubber fenders, including tire net replacement, fender body repairs, and end fitting maintenance.
